Early Intervention Program (EIP)

Early Intervention Program (EIP)

Support for Reading and Math in Georgia Elementary Schools
What is EIP?
The Early Intervention Program (EIP) helps students in kindergarten through 5th grade who may be struggling with reading or math. It provides extra support early on to help students succeed in the regular classroom.
How Does EIP Help?
• Smaller group instruction with more teacher attention
• Extra practice in reading and/or math
• Special strategies tailored to student needs
• Support inside the classroom or in small groups
Who Qualifies?
Teachers and schools use classroom performance, test scores, and teacher input to determine if a child qualifies for EIP services.
Will My Child Miss Regular Class?
No. EIP supports—not replaces—regular instruction. Your child will still participate in all regular class activities.
Will My Child Be in EIP Forever?
No. EIP is temporary and targeted. Once your child meets grade-level goals, they may exit the program.
Important: EIP is not special education. It’s a support program designed to help students catch up and build confidence in reading and math!
Talk to your child’s teacher or school for more information about EIP services
